Now in its 12^th cycle, the China CNC Machine Tool Fair (CCMT) was initiated in Shanghai in 2000. The first five events were held in Shanghai, one in Beijing and the most recent two in Nanjing. For long-term development and to provide a larger platform to exhibitors, CCMT moved back to Shanghai in 2014 and will remain in Shanghai going forward. On March 17, 2022, the organizers of CCMT Shanghai 2022 announced that they were postponing the show due to COVID-19 virus conditions in the Shanghai area. Ultimately, they were unable to hold CCMT 2022 due to restrictions of travel within and outside of China.

CCMT is the sister show of CIMT (Beijing), the largest and most important machine tool show in China. With CCMT in south China, CIMT in the north, and CCIMT serving the southwest, exhibitors from China and around the world now have direct access to the largest centers of manufacturing within the enormous Chinese market.

CCMT is organized by the China Machine Tool Builders Association (CMTBA).
